Todd N. Lebor , CPA, CFP®

Todd N. Lebor , CPA, CFP® is the President, founder, and principal advisor at TNL Asset Management LLC. Mr. Lebor has been managing money professionally since 1997. Early in his career, Mr. Lebor worked in the private and public real estate industries where he developed a fundamental understanding of valuation techniques and the importance of a long-term outlook. After developing a taste for equities, Mr. Lebor made the jump to equity research with The Motley Fool and then Morningstar.

Career in Financial Services

The Motley Fool and Morningstar were carefully chosen by Mr. Lebor because of the importance he places on independent financial advice. After working as a financial analyst for a publicly traded company where he discovered the flagrant conflicts-of-interest and biases inherent in the sell-side analyst role, Mr. Lebor committed himself to a career in financial services without conflicts of interest. Hence, the fee-only advisor role.


Mr. Lebor also proudly serves the U.S. military community as a Personal Financial Counselor (PFC). This independent contractor role though MHN Government Services involves educating our soldiers and their family members about fundamental financial matters. As a PFC, Mr. Lebor teaches classes, makes presentations, offers financial guidance, and attempts to answer basic financial questions specific to military members.

Mr. Lebor's Education

Mr. Lebor is a graduate of the Boston University School of Management with a concentration in finance. Shortly after graduating, Mr. Lebor attained his Certified Public Accountant designation. He never practiced accounting but used his knowledge to better analyze financial statements and to decipher real cash flows. Several years later Mr. Lebor became a Certified Financial Planner™.

Professional Affiliations

Mr. Lebor is a Registered Investment Advisor and a member of the Financial Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

 

When he's not helping others straighten out their financial lives, Mr. Lebor competes as an age-grouper (read: amateur) triathlete and plays as much golf as the Chicago weather permits.
